You may be eligible for a Rewarding Educational Challenge and Commitment to Community Service if: You are a working education professional
- Classroom teacher or are a professional
- Enrolled in or interested in enrolling in National University's Teacher Education Program, Specialized Programs
- NUCRI Cohort or BAIS Waiver Program and want to apply for a $4,725 AmeriCorps Service Learning Education Award.
For AmeriCorps Eligibility:
- You must have a 2.5 GPA
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Resident
- Demonstrate a Commitment to Diversity
- Serve low-income Children and Families
- Be willing to engage in community based training and research
Developmental Activities include:
- 1700 service hours
- Pre-Service Orientation
- Monthly Seminars, Mentorship
- Local & National Education Network Participation
- National University Qualifications Include:
- National University student, or prospective student (show proof of enrollment)
- Completion of or enrollment in a CLD course with a Service Learning component or BAIS Waiver Program
- NUCRI/EMS Charter School Teacher
- CSULA/National University Fellow
- Interested in Service Learning as a teaching modality
- Engage in community research and work in a Family Resource Center project
- Receive special educational software training.
